There are plenty of local news sources including the Green Bay Newspaper as well as local TV stations.

Local Newspaper

Green Bay’s Local Newspaper is the Green Bay Press-Gazette. It is a great newspaper with up to date information on the national and local news as well as local events, sports, classified and, of course, extensive Packer coverage! They have a great section that comes out during the week with weekend events.

The Green Bay Press Gazette was founded in 1866 and became a daily newspaper in 1871, known as the State Gazette. In 1915, the paper merged with the Green Bay Free Press and the Green Bay Press-Gazette was born.

One of the best things the Press-Gazette is known for is the place where the Packers were founded. In 1919, George Calhoun and Curly Lambeau met in the old Press-Gazette building on Cherry Street.

Green Bay TV Stations

Fox 11 (WLUK-TV) is, of course, the fox affiliate in Northeast Wisconsin. They have a morning show called Good Day Wisconsin as well has news broadcasts at 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm (which is great if you want to go to bed early!) It is located on channel 11 on basic TV and channel 12 on cable.

WBAY is Green Bay’s ABC affiliate. It is located on channel 2 on basic TV and 3 on cable. WBAY has news at 5:00 am, News at Noon, and Action News at 4:00, 5:00 and 10:00. They have a great deal on their website where you can get ½ off restaurants gifts certificates on Thursdays.

WFRV is Green Bay’s CBS affiliate and is on channel 5 on cable and channel on basic TV. They have news at 5:00 am, Channel 5 News at Noon, 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00. It is on channel 5 for basic and 6 for cable.
